Excessive Steam?????

Post by Jay »

Hi all as most of you know i have a 600RR-5.
Today i was out on her in the wet and the Steam i was getting coming off the Rad was unreal :!: the temp of the bike was normal, but it didn't look right. So i took the bike back to GT's, they looked at it and said the front of the Rad was waterlogged and suggested i put a fender extender on it  . It just seems strange that i have ridden in all weathers on her and she has never been like that before :? :? . Once the Rad dried out it was fine :?

So has anyone else had the same thing with their bikes??

Not had the same on mine. As long as its water getting onto the rad creating steam, and not water from the rad creating it then I wouldn't be worried at all.

I've had it a few times, cold rain/water on a hot rad is bound to produce steam.

I seem to get it on my (better then yours)) CBR when i come to a halt at lights when raining hard. A big puff of steam.

I have a fender extender on mine only cost £15 at took 5 mins to fit and you can hardly see it.

Saves the down pipes mate and crap on the engine

I may invest in a fender extender, does it match your Mudguard :?:

Mines matt black with HONDA written on both sides.

To be honest you can't really see it.

You can get coloured coded ones. I think BUSTER do them.

I got mine local from CMS.

Comes with 3 tiny screws to hold it on which you have to screw through mudgaurd. Easy peasy
