A motorcyclist was killed when his bike collided with a lorry on the A374 between Sheviock and Polbathic yesterday. The 45-year-old man, believed to be local, has not yet been formally identified. His family, from the Merseyside area, were being contacted by police today.

Police closed the road for several hours while emergency rescuers and accident investigators worked at the scene.

The accident happened at around 11.15am.

Diversions were put in place at Polbathic and Polscoe.

 ....I have just read this and can't believe it - extremely sad news,He was a fantastic bloke who was with us a lot on rideouts last year,we always used to joke about our bikes having similar mileage(my 600) and how well they were running considering their age and mileage,he always made time to speak to me and karen and gave advice about our cbr1000 with what panniers and seat to get for touring. We will miss this laid back man on rideouts in the future.Frank you will be missed and our thoughts are with the family and friends.....

I dont believe it man :(
Top man, met him on the rideout to Bude, and seen him around a few times since he was local.
Heard the road had been closed, but was told it was a track causing a block, and then in work someone said it was a biker :(

Words can say what I'm thinking.
RIP mate.

Absolutely gutted. Frank introduced me to the site and gave me more smiles per mile than any other biker the way he threw that old fudge around. A good guy a good rider and a great biker. The world is a sadder place for me and many many others tonight. Thoughts will be with his partner and family tonight. RIP Frank mate.
