I think its all Ok, but the only problem is, everyone tells you the benefits of being a memeber, then when you pay to become one you dont get any.
I.e, the card, the stickers, the email address etc.
But otherwise I reckon its a good site, apart from we seem to of lost alot of the crew from Plymouth (locals anyway) Like Keith, Jim, Gary, Andrew dont seem to be on here much lately.
It was good banter with teh darksiders!

Too many people stuck up their own arse, complaining about having to pay a small fee for benefits that outweigh the price.

Too many people have pride. There is and was nothing wrong with the forums at all until people got uptight about the pettiest of things.

That is why I rarely browse these forums anymore because we used to be a tight knit community where everyone got on brilliantly and have a right ball at meets.

Now if I went to a meet, either I wouldn't know half the people or I wouldn't be so fond about meeting people due to what has been said on this forum.

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS FORUM. It's some of the people who are wrong.

But hey ho, such is life, you can't find everyone to be so kind and unselfish.

Well i feel if you are renewing your membership, you should only have to pay a fiver, but all new members pay a tenner

Also unless a post is offensive i dont think it should be edited without the member knowing, i think admin should speak to them and ask them to do it themselves, if they dont change it then an admin has every right to do so in a proper manner

But hey what do i know about running a forum, but i feel these are a couple reasons on people not using the site atm

Sorry to step in here

But SWB admin will not just pick on any old post and start editing. But if someone is posting rubbish, offensive or abusive or anything that's taking the wee out of the site, then we may edit posts (or maybe even signatures   ) to make them more suitable.

Rant over, back to the topic please :D

I think the site is great .... ;)

I dont think you should get a post count for replying to jokes ....

I think there should be a limit to jokes/videos (say half a dozen per week)

I don't mind paying for the up-keep of the site so no problems there ...

I think should people be warned for continuously going off topic on a post ....

But overall i think the site is top notch with good people running it .... :)

I enjoy the site and the people on here. The only thing that winds me up a tad is when people put smileys on just to up a post count. sometimes i log on and have to wade back thru 3 pages of crap to find the original post. If you feel the need to reply then it should make a contribution to the post.If you laugh at a joke why do you need to put a smiley face on the thread? Rant over. The summer is coming and we will be on two wheels rather than a computer anyway!

Not gonna happen, the Karma system is exclusive to bikechatforums.com, the admin Korn made all that PHP code himself. It is not a downloadable addon. HTH. :)

Whats £10 when you can get that back on a set of tyres at pro tyre for example !

Its upto all of us to go out and negotiate discount for all members!

posts only edited or removed when they are offensive, abusive etc. offenders are told.

Sigs were removed to help the site speed up most members were happy with this !

JonB don't worry mate as the tossers are soon singled out ! so keep posting mate as it members like you who make swb what it is.

Tomr6 we will try to crack down on smilie posts !

less of the censorship of swear words its [Censored] childish. :)

other than that its all good I just think it needs to be less clicky - a tight knit community isnt necassarilly a good thing. It is getting better in this respect though.

we just need more members, more traffic through the site that isnt just in the Jokes section.

with that will come difference of opinions and that is what makes interesting reading. What will make the sight is the contributors - a good spread with differing views and reasons for riding bikes is what we need.

I like the idea of a karma style system. I use a few other non bike forums that have a simular system running so i'm sure there's an add on out there somewhere!

As for the rest of the forum I think its well set up.

Is there a lock down function to only allow one post per thread in the jokes section, thus stopping the smiley posts (which i know i have also been guilty of in the past   ).
