Safety Camera vans and road laws
Coming home from Bodmin yesterday, I was pulling away from Goss Moor up to the summit of Hamburger Hill when, lo and behold, I spotted the Safety Camera partnership wagon, aka Dick Turpin parked at the side of the road by the bridge over the road below. This got me thinking because firstly, the A30 is a Clearway, therefore you are not allowed to stop unless in an emergency, and secondly, Dick turpin was neither in any state of distress or mechanical breakdown so what the feck was he doing 'parked' on a Clearway or don't the bits in the Road Traffic Act apply to these leeches.

stealth tax mate, hardly any (if any at all) of revenue generated goes to repairing the roads, and scamera partnerships don't give their cash point camera site revenue to the police to help police the roads of drink drivers, mobile phone users, dangerous drivers, etc etc. Whats the priority here? Catch people for breaking the speed limit a little or spend more time catching the real crooks- the ones who spend more time looking at sat nav, tv's, using mobile phones, etc than looking at the bleeding road? The ones who "didn;t see you"
What a load of tosh, abolish the camera partnership i say!

apparently they make about 12 million a year in speeding fines etc. In their defence they says it's not about the money beacuse they make more off simon cowels income tax. which maybe true but dosn't mean they are going to say no to another 12 mill, i'm sure that lines a couple extra pockets. such a shitty argument "we're not scamming you, why would we when we are scaming this bloke for the same money?" so you can have double! b'stards.

whats depressing is that there isn't anyone worth voting for, what ever happens same result - you get shafted. Wouldn't it be great if there was a policitcal party that carried more about getting it right than the money. Vote me

They've sold off Electric, Gas, water, 'phones, railways, etc., and anything else that used to put money back into the government coffers. We, Joe Soap the public, are now pretty much the sole revenue stream for this or any other government, hence everything (probably the air you breath soon
) is taxed out of existence to compensate for all they sold for quick returns .......
What has been done was pretty much akin to you buying a bike with your own money, just for your parents to sell it off for you, then charge you to rent it back again ....... i.e. you pay for the thing you already own three times over .... (and still don't own it
) Whatever government is in power, they are all the same - no matter what they say, their principle interest is not about you or I, but about keeping themselves in power and in work .... hence policy making has a 5yr max. foresight
But anyway this is about bikes....not politics

Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

No its about 60% at the moment which is lower than normal due to the relative expense of a barrell of oil at the moment. When it creeps down to sub 70p then closer to 80% of it is tax.
so for a litre the cost is made up of about 49p duty then you have the cost of the fuel then VAT at 17.5% on both the fuel cost and the fuel duty (which is effectively a Tax on a Tax - good eh?)
