Ok Chris, Just found out that there is a colour tune for bikes, been asking about this for a while now, but finaly found one in Halfords
Were you mixture screws protected ie tamperproofed?
I havn't even looked at mine yet, but I want to set up (or at least check) the mixture is ok before synchronizing the carbs.

no, the tamper restrictor covers had been taken off mine. theyre only little tin plugs that cover the pilot mixture screw anyway, theyre easy ehough to drill out if you have the carbs off. one of them drills with the point in the middle and sharp edges are the best to get em out with.

what carbs is it that the blade uses? should be easy enough to get a pic online somewhere to identify them - on my mikuni bst36's they are underneath on the inlet side of the float bowls, kinda between the bowl and the bit that goes in the inlet rubber

Bikes not with me atm, I'm at work, but the good ole Haynes is... they are Keihin's CV 38mm, VP88A. The drill bit you describe sounds like a wood drill? Do you reakon it's possible to get the covers off with the carbs in situ? using a small screwdriver etc?

depends how much room you have between the top of the casings and the bottom of the carbs, you might be able to do it with a small watchmakers screwdriver and a mirror. i have a feeling it may just be US and other overseas models that have the plugs though so you may not even need to

Just wondering, how much did you pay for your colur tune, i've been after one for a while too. What temp and revs does it work up to?
