I'm gonna have my say on this matter.
I saw it last night and it was in no way offensive, not to bikers, not even to the military, it was a joke about terrorists. This is the only forum where it went down badly. Every other site saw it for what it was, a joke.
The censorship on this site is beyond a joke now, feels like the head of our government is running the site. The mods have absolute power and that is it, no way or means around it, threads and post disappear without any consultation. No wonder so many people are leaving!
Unlike most forums people PAY for this site, yet we don't get a say in what happens, seems like trigger happy mods will delete anything they see inappropriate, yet the amount of pointless drivel posted on this site is insane.
I bet either my post will be deleted/edited/or I will be banned, what are the odds?
I have stood up for the mods in the past, but now I can see that the moderation on this site surpasses the meaning of MODERATION now.

Gotta agree with Jon...
Anyone that found that offensive is rather narrow minded IMO...
It was a joke, the same sort of joke that pops up every day all over the place...
As for the moderators, well if they received complaints then I imagine they felt they had little choice but to delete it, so I don't blame them for keeping the peace, but not all posts should be deleted because one or 2 people are offended... Some people say as they please on here and get away with it.

it is a shame to see people schisming off, so many people have left when all it would have taken is for one person to admit they might have been in the wrong, or at least make an apology for the action if not the sentiment.
I have to agree with jon, i would say the mods have been a little heavy handed at times (like the whole sig issue ages ago) whole thing seemed unnecessary.

Ok Jon, so why do you think you will be banned or have your thread changedJon B wrote:I'm gonna have my say on this matter.

I had 5 people telling they though it was in bad taste, yet I didnt delete the thread, SO WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
The mods and admin very very rarely touch threads UNLESS we have complaints, to which we have to try and sort out, now if those people had contacted you complaining AGAIN WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE
Whats this about you getting no say in the site
If you want I'll stop being Admin from now on and you can take my place, I'll ask Dave or Age to change the details later this evening.
Thank you.

Did I ever profess to wanting to be an Admin? No. I haven't the time.speedy(delboy) wrote: Ok Jon, so why do you think you will be banned or have your thread changed![]()

as far as I am aware the only threads I sometimes change are the ones that are badly spelt or in one massive block and I just put the block in paragraphs so people find it easier to read, As yet I have not ever changed any words they may have put.

Age & Dave are always adding things to the site that people have asked for and they do it as quickly as they can.

5 people out of hundreds of members should hardly mean that a thread gets closed? If a small minority are offended, i'm sure they will get over it. I've seen plenty worse posts and threads than that one by far.
If those people had contacted me, I would have understood that they were offended and acknowledge that it was a small problem, but it was only that.
Get angry all you want, isn't going to change things.

Yeah, what about the thread advertising Britney's hair?
Someone with cancer could interpret that as offensive cause they had to have their hair shaven off?
That's still on here. Everything has potential to being offensive.
P.S Your caps lock button is a bit sticky.

1st Complaint Ive heard about it, would you like me to ask the author to edit or remove it.
Jon this could go on all day, but I neither have the time or the patience.
PS: My sister was diagnosed with abdominal Cancer some 8 weeks ago now, and is on her chemotherapy now, she is also a severe diabetic which doesn't help.
I would like to hear the views of the other admin and mods please, seems to always be me who explains what we have to do, to keep the peace.
With the exception of the sig thingy, can anyone let me know what other things have been changed by admin or mods - thanks

Just leave everything. Let the site moderate itself, if it is offensive enough, other members and not just 2 or 3 will make their thoughts known and there will be no choice to either remove it or lock it. Removing it from the public domain just censors everything. Our freedom of speech is being restricted in this country as it is, the internet is the only place remaining, let's keep it that way.
P.S Sorry to hear about your sister.
