Hello everyone,

I would like to know what you think of the CBR600F-1 (2001 model)

I am changing bike in the new year and have been offerd a good deal on this bike

5700 miles on the clock, 2 owners, full service history etc

what your view ?????

I was actually looking at one before I bought the SV. I found it was quite a lot more to insure so get a quote first.

The milage seems rather low for a 6 year old bike so check it has had all the required service history. They are quite a lot more powerful than an sv so take a test ride.

It it was me I would look at a slightly newer RR version unless you are using it for commuting etc.

The milage is so low beacuse it been stuck in a heated shead for most of and its last owner only took it up to Donigton and never ride it since, he was in his 60's and gave up riding.

I have spoken to my insurance and they said that I can insure it, will only cost and extra £100 till the end of my policy which is not to bad really

sounds like a good buy,the cbr will be a good alrounder and plenty fast enough to keep up a good pace on a rideout
the only probs i can think of is if it has been standing for a long time u might have problems with fork seals perishing etc and also engine oil and brake fluid could be past it's best.

any bike thats been stood standing will need a good service,as bamabam said allow for oil/fluids/chain/fork seals/tyres/etc also as its winter time you should be able to get it cheap especially as the guy obviously doesnt want it any more.check parkers for a guide price and go about a grand below that as its deep dark december

i know of a tidyish zx6r (2005) that needed new tyres,chain and sprockets that was sold for £1800 only last week,so theres a few bargains out there if you look hard enough
