Nope not really. If you're paying £3600 on a 400 you really want it completely showroom and with less than 4,000miles. You can get RVF's for about £2000-2500. Its worth looking at its older brother, the VFR400 NC30. More or less the same bike but alot cheaper, both are awesome bikes with build quality better than any other 400 imo.

2750 top whack, this time of year 2250s a fair price 2k is more realistic. its a stunning bike and will hold its value better than most but nowhere near that price as its semi forgottten about by most new bikers and not cool enough for others but it does have a small cult following
ive had 2 and would love another one

I know it seems like a lot of money, but late model RVF's (98-99) in good condition regularly go for over the £3k mark, although I would say £3600 is a couple of hundred high. Mint VFR NC30's can still fetch more than £2k. Although I have to agree with Funky, if it's your first big bike buy something cheaper, £1500 should get you a nice VFR400 NC30 in good condition, chances are you will probably drop it at some point, it happens. The VFR NC30 is still a great little bike with superb handling and great fun. I've had several over the years, and even raced one for a while.
If you're particularly after an RVF try looking at private ads as you will find it cheaper, older models go back to 'L' reg and will be much cheaper. though I would advise taking along a biker friend for a second opinion as you don't have any comeback against a private seller.
