Flipped my bike...Doh!

Post by Funky »

Was going to go to Newton Sainsbury's today in order to get the pressure washer on my bike as it was in need of a quick clean. I decided to go the long way around via paignton-totnes-newton abbot.

In paignton coming upto a mini roundabout down hill, looking to my right with a black taxi in front of me, forward planning assuming the taxi would go as i knew I could make it also. The taxi thought differently, so I had to brake incredibly hard and ended up doing an uber stoppie and flipped my bike. the damage is below:

Shopping list at first glance:

Nose Cone
Headlight Unit
Middle Left Hand Fairing
Left Foot Rest
Rear Seat Fairing
Undertray
I'm hoping not the rear sub-frame
Screen
Mirrors

I know the incident is purely my fault but it's all a learning curve. Lesson learnt: Don't plan ahead too much in all situations and never assume.

I've informed my insurance company so will keep you all posted.

Ouch!  Sounds very expensive.

At the risk of appearing holyer than thou, seems to me that the forward observation was fine but the planning was marred by faulty analysis.

Ye I jinxed it by saying the other day 'the bike is running perfectly now, not a problem'. There was a problem...the bluddy rider.

On the bright side, the engine still fires up first time. :D

Flipping 'ell Buther, I assume you got back and had an angry w*nk?

Look on the bright side, more time for GOW!!

You have a few options, claim off the insurance and get raped for the next few years. Dont claim, get second hand bits to repair the R6 or get a newer bike, use the R6 as a trackbike and be alround awesome :)

Bad luck Funky - hope you are OK :?

Should have waited 'til you knew what it would cost before telling the insurance ....... at least it's a common bike so flea-bay parts should be plentiful :D

I assume by the fact you told the insurance, that you are fully comp :?: If you aren't and you still told your a proper numpty  :D
