FIRST BIKE ON SCENE

Post by fjrnobby »

I'm sure some of you have heard of this course being run by The South West Ambulance Service. Is there anyone up here in North Devon interested in doing it. It is a worthwhile course and you could end up saving someones life, should the unimaginable happen whilst out riding. If there are 12 people interested I can probably get a course run here in Bideford. I already have some wanting to do it. Think it costs £50 each.... If you would either like to do the course or want more info, get in touch....

i would be interested but it would depend on when it's booked due to shift work.
i would need at least a couple of weeks notice to swap shifts or book leave.
r most of the courses at weekends,if so that could be a problem to get the day off

The courses are run usually on a saturdays from 0830hrs to 1630hrs. You need a minimum of six people for a course to run and a place to hold it. It costs £60 each and is certificated by the Royal College of Surgeons. If you wish to organise one yourselves or want to know as and when a course is available near you, contact Kim Davis on 01305 257643 or by emailing her on kim.davis@swast.nhs.uk It is well worth doing.......

I managed to get some more details of the courses and when and where they are being held, courses can be held anywhere if a venue can be found, I don't mind organising one for Plymouth if we can get a free venue, minimum number of people is 8 and max is 12
