End of the line for the A374????

Post by Mike Hayward »

It looks as though the A374 maybe about to be transformed into a non friendly bike road :(
Last night myself, sis in law and her fella decided we'd ride the A374, now with family in polbathic and even in the parish council we've not heard any news but all the road between Polbathic and Antony was covered HEAVILY in loose chippings and what with equipment and loads signs its fairly obvious alot of work is being carried out, the chippings were so bad at one point i actually pulled over to check my tryes and the floor was about half an inch thick of chippings.
I suspect they will be making the surface very uneven to deter bikers along the road.

Its funny how nothing has been done for years but due to the unfortunate fatal accident involving a member of the parish council on his bike and an empty road the council have now decided to do something.

oh well

Ah for [censored] sake. Thats the best part of the road as well. Love that part to bits, but particularly like the twisty bit before that long open uphill left. Beautiful corner. Spent many afternoons screaming the 125 round there, now the bandit is ragged to [censored] round there regular. Hopefully it will be better when I've got back from holiday
