Honda VTR firestorm?

I'm looking for a new bike and was thinking about a vtr, anyone owned or ridden one, got any recommendations/reviews? Want something that i cant take out for a good thrash but dont have to slip the clutch below 60 as i have to commute on it :wink:

I'm a bit tight on time at the moment so appologies for not giving a proper reply, but if you have a look at the answer I gave in this thread when someone asked a similar Q a while back it details my experience of the bike & any problems (that I know of):-

The other post sums most of it up.

Mine is a 53 reg one so its the later ones so it has different clocks, no tensioner problems ( i hope) and a bigger fuel tank all be it only 3 ltrs.I use mine every day to do the 20 mile commute to work at a 'progresive pace' and chasing certain people on here at weekends :lol: , Only really held back on rideouts by my shit riding not the bike :oops: :lol:

that other thread should be given a medal for usefulness, what a clever bunch you lot are eh :D

im buying it as my first 'proper big sports bike' but want something fairly manageable not totally nuts. Fuel tank seems to be the only down side other than the tensioner probs. But i seems braided lines would be worth the money and maybe some new fork internals if the budget makes it :wink:
