Its mank yamaha really need to move those exhausts back down low to slim down the rear end a bit.

its got a fireblade nose cone and the seat unit of the triumph triple thingy, looks odd the only thing of real beauty is the swingarm :!:

It's the muller effect. They make a really nice bike for 2008, but a pig ugly one in 2009.

The balance is restored!

Ive already said what i think on the other r1 thread, but also it seems like yamaha have tried to "do a fireblade"with the unconventional stumpy looks.

Unfortunately honda did it first and best....sorry R1!

I have to admit i like the side profile, but the headlights look a bit naff.

I'm really not sure about the looks, I think it'll look a lot better with a pair of Akrapovics on it.

Main point of interest for me is that it's got a 'big bang' motor, which could make it a pretty awesome tool in the right hands; you get the inline 4 power with v-twin torque delivery, which should make it fookin quick, and great fun. I reckon it should sound pretty good with race pipes on aswell. I want to ride one just for that reason alone.

i thought a traditional Big Bang motor was one where cylinders 1 and 3 fire at the same time and then 2 and 4? (read this, it explains how the virgin team used it in BSB http://www.crash.net/motorsport/bsb/fea ... ealed.html)

the R1 still has 4 separate bangs (cranks are 90 degrees apart) so big bang is a bit misleading, long bang would be a better description i think, as a true big bang motor would lead to self destruction in a matter of hours (30 mins for a race bike, apparently)

it does look a bit pants.
glad i've got this years model :D :D :D
the white colour scheme with the burgundy frame is awful.
the way the engine is fairly exposed would also put me off...as if a panel is missing
the side profile is okay but the front is bad....i prefer the headlight arrangement on mine.

these r some of the artist impressions of the r1 that were doing the rounds before the official model

Thats awful!!! Give the Speed Triple the cans back and lose the horrible burgundy frame/ swingarm.

Quite like the idea of air ducts in the headlight and the front end don't look too bad but the rears horrible. Makes the new Blade look nice!!

Should of based it on the R6 :D :D :D :D
