Ooops - Stars on Ice ?!!

Post by TLS-Moose »

Well, what can I say, went down to the Eden Project yesterday with family & friends ....

Wife knackered her knee a few years ago, so muggins was volunteered to go on the ice-rink with the kids ....

Which is when I found out fat blokes and ice don't mix!!

So here I lie, in hospital (RD&E), having managed to dislocate & fracture my right ankle and rip some ligaments to boot.

They manipulated the dislocation last night, and I am now stuck here til they can operate to pin the fractures in a couple of days ..... Boo Hoo and poor me!!
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

Oh no!!! Poor you Moose.. That sounds really nasty. Still, at least you will get to choose the colour of your cast - you could have a lovely Barbie Pink..?!! :)

Get well soon - and make the most of everyone having to run around after you until you've healed.

Sorry to hear the misfortune, bit late now but skating boots will normally give the proper support if you keep them really tight around the ankles.

Thanks folks, feeling a bit sorry for myself today .... No doubt all will be well soon, just gotta wait til tues/weds for them to operate on the fracture then hopefully I can go home ......

I can think of better ways of dieting, with a fair bit less discomfort, though perhaps not the enforced discipline .....

Oh, and the boots did their job - they were tight and it would have been far worse (!) If they hadnt been tight .... And the staff at Eden & St Austell Minor Injuries Unit were excellent too.
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

OUCH.

Was it shortly after showing off with some particularly impressive moves, or did you simply go down like a sack o' spuds?
