bloody hell!!, that was close!!

Post by julian »

I was on my way back home from the g/f's at about 7am and was having a crack at beating my PB of 16-08. While flying along on a blind down hill section, which most times can be taken nearly flat out, I come across a pick up towing a large trailer. It had been travelling in the opposite direction to me, but had pulled over to my side of the road to allow him to turn left into a field. It was stopped blocking most of two lanes  .. I somehow managed to miss his nearside front wing while going on the opposite side of the road. I was then heading for a stone wall but luckily it had a build up of mud at the bottom and I managed to use it like a berm and bounce off it…...

So, luckily, no damage or injury 8) .

Over the last few years, I’ve really eased off the speed at which I ride my motorbike on the road, maybe its old age  or maybe there are just too many unforeseeable hazards….

And now it looks like I’m going to have to slow up on my bicycle too   :D

Whats that old adage - never travel faster than the distance in which you can see to stop :?

Or some old b*ll*x like that anyway - if in doubt keep it pinned, and at worst you'll look like Evel Knievel 8)

oh, and of course by a bicycle with disc brakes
