Ducati Pull Out of WSBK
Ducati Pull Out of WSBK
Ducati have announced that they're pulling out of WSBK to focus on moto gp and 'bringing technology to the road'
They will still support privateer teams though.
Or it could be that the FIM wont change rules further so that an over developed bad idea can win.

Vale buckles under pressure. Ben spies will be moto gp champ in 2011 if lorenzo does not continue to develop at the same rate!

I thiunk thats a little optimistic, though I do think Spies will be champ at some point. He has shown nothing like the dominance he did in WSBK, and the argument of "He doesn't know the circuits" doesn't count as he didn't in WSBK either
I think once again Ducati are playing a bit of brinkmanship to get the rules changed to favour their engine layout. The response from Flamini is very telling regarding performance though, pointing out how well the Duke is really going.
I tend to agree with Deej also - they've paid a huge price to get Vale, and now have to rationalise budgets to pay for it

Results count. Everything else is just opinion.
My opinion of spies is that the lad aint doing bad for a rookie on a satellite machine. Put him on a factory bike and see what he does.
He will be the fifth alien.
Optimistic? Maybe. Watch this space

Sorry boys. I bow to your majestic knowledge of the moto gp wheeling and dealing.
But...........
I still think tech3 are a satellite team and have been all season while spies has been awesome. Thanks for the offer of your arse deej but i'll have to say no thank you.
I suspect there will be more parts going to him for the rest of the season but as long as the lad keeps performing and shows the same level of respect for the rest of the paddock then he deserves everything he gets.
Maybe the rossi grapes are going a bit sour! I look forward to further inside info for the remainder of the season. Lol

Re: Ducati Pull Out of WSBK
i wouldnt say its inside information just common business sense, if you were yamaha and you are paying spies wages/ride on the tech3 bike your going to make sure he as a better bike than edwards has. with all the moves that have happened it wouldnt be a suprise if yamaha have upped the delivery of parts to spies, especially after he tested the 2011 bike in brno. the rumours on twitter are that yamaha have swapped rossis bike with spies bike but i very much doubt thats happened...
yes spies is doing well for a rookie and better than any british superbike rider has ever done so i respect his acheivements

PMSL. Twitter eh! Lol. I didnt realise we had such succinct and direct connections to the heart of the moto gp machine. LOL.
I still think yamaha treated tech3 as a satellite team and gradually fed in better parts as spies proved his worth. That sounds like great business sense to me.
No doubt you are right about them upping the spec for the rest of the season though. Why not?
If I come across as slightly sarcastic and taking the pi55 on this thread thats because i am. Lol.
Right, I'm off to join twitter now to see if I can finish off my business masters.
Enjoy the racing today guys.

Re: Ducati Pull Out of WSBK
The twitter mention was meant to be funny
Racing should be good,be interesting to see if spies can hold the same consistent pace as lorenzo managed. Be fun to see when stoner loses his rattle due to people following and see what happens with rossi

Re: Ducati Pull Out of WSBK
I fully expect that next season Lorenzo and Spies will be vying for the top place.
Ever since Rossi announced that he was going to Ducati I suspect the parts would have been dripping into Spies with any more development on Rossi's bike being stopped. I doubt that a swapping of bikes would have happened though, probably due to various contractual reasons.
The rest of the season should prove interesting though

Re: Ducati Pull Out of WSBK
Can't remember what race it was but rossi's engineer was working on spies bike, I doubt he'd be working on a satalite engine.
