License help pls!

Hi all....got a few q's about getting a bike license.....

I have a friend who no longer lives in the UK but still holds a UK driving license and wants to get a bike license. I am fairly sure the existing license is out of date!

My q's are..

1. Can the license be renewed even tho not a UK resident any longer...

2. Do you have to do a theory before a CBT type thingie...

3. How many flippin parts are there required to getting the magical bit of paper!!!!!!

Wont be able to renew it unless gives a uk address

Will need to do CBT if wanting to ride over here

To get a licence need to pass parts 1&2

Your friend will need either a provisional licencse or a full licencse with provisional motorcycle entitlement (not always included these days). I'm not too sure about the UK licencse bit as we've done CBT's to people with Irish licensees before...

They will then need to pass a motorcycle theory test- valid gor 2 years
Next up is the CBT - again valid for 2 years
Then it's training time
First test to pass is the part 1 site work
Once that's passed it's onto test part 2 which is the road ride.
Part 2 cannot be taken or booked until part 1 is passed
