The message no parent wants to see .....

So after being stick in a meeting for three hours, I come out and look at my blackberry (we have a phones off/silent policy in meetings) and see a text from my wife. It starts "The first thing is, Jamie is fine" followed by "He came off his moped going to the shops at lunch-time .... "

Well, the main thing is he's fine - not a scratch, just a little shaken by the experience :erm: He was turning into the road by Somerfields in Broadclyst Station when the front just slid out from under him - it was cold with a layer of damp salt on the road, and the turning leads to the TNT depot so plenty of diesel and sh*t on the road too

The bike wasn't quite so lucky, but not too bad either - a new handlebar, some new handguards, straighten the (bent) gear lever, put the chain back on (it had come off somehow  ). Fortunately CMS is open 'til 8.00 Monday - Thursday now, so £50 and 2hrs later all working and rideable again :)

Glad to hear Jamie is ok mate.
We have stopped Michelle taking hers this week for that exact reason one of her friends came off his bike Sunday after leaving our place, he was lucky as well just a few bruises.

He's fine 8) Bank of Mum & Dad bailed for the repairs, and he rode back in to college yesterday without a problem. Says he prefers the new (slightly lower rise) bars to the old ones

Layne, 1. Yes :ympray: ~x( 2. What do you think

a 1990 Suzuki TS50X ..... he wasn't too keen at first, but as all his mates with newer Aprilia RX50's and such have all had major headaches reliability wise, and his is faster than all of them (hits 45-50 easily on the flat  ) he's pretty chuffed with it now 8)

It'll be a while till mine are old enough to start giving me those nightmares but that aside can't wait to get whichever of mine wants onto two wheels :D

Started my bike riding ( legaly  ) on the TS50 ER the X's older version and it was a great bike, usedto ride to school and college on it weekdays and greenlaned at the weekends :D !

Glad your boys back on the horse and better rider for it!

glad to hear he is ok mate. In the long run it might be a good thing so he knows what it's like to come off and be a bit more careful in the future.

When I was at school the TSX was the Dogs B's and the biggest looking 50 you could get.
