Oulton Park ............... It has to be done

Post by Rsv4Col »

Woke up to clear skies and bright sunshine friday morning :-bd
Get to the track unload the van into a garage and then attend briefing
Take the bike over for db test bearing in mind its 102 db max i thought i would take a chance on not putting in my db killer  BIG mistake it came out at 105 so back to the garage db killer in and 100.7 \:D/
only trouble is the session has already started and it took the 2 oldies about an hour to get all bikes tested :80:

Onto track and OMG i love the place .
I know it's expensive but seriously it has to be done
It is very similar to Cadwell except it's wider ( not wide enough for ChrisK5 who passed me using the grass ) and a bit more flowing.

Hence why I havent done any of those either :( :x I think I said to Colin at Llandow, I'd happily pay £170 for a trackday if I could g'tee it would be dry  but just so scared of it being wet and wasting (in my eyes) the best part of £250-300 X( Theres only so many goats you can sacrifice!

Saying that, Oulton would be my choice for a track I havent tried before (after Mallory!)

but you'll pay £99 or £109 for say cadwell that will cost a extra £10-15 in diesel but you wont pay £149 for a track thats awesome or closer. when you add up the whole costs involved in doing trackdays the extra 30 quid or so to do a awesome track far outweighs the costs. in my eyes budgeting £300 for oulton is better than say £250 for a day at pembrey ;) ;) ;)

noise police mate

the track (as does thruxton) has to be quiet between 10.30 and 12 on a sunday for the church goers so no point having weekend trackdays there, different for the racers as they can plan breaks into the schedule :D :D
