What bike? £2k budget
Hi all..
Changing bikes again, been on ZRX1100 for last 2 years or so and fancy a change.
£1500 to 2000 budget.
- Honda CBR900RRW Fireblade
- Kawasaki ZX9R C/E
- Suzuki GSXR750Y
- Suzuki TL1000RW
Any reviews or comments to those models? Any other suggestions? As you can see from list, looking for bike with clip ons and fairing for a bit.
Cheers
Lee

I had a RRW Blade - loved it, more of an alrounder now. Rode a GSXR750Y back to back with the Blade & have to admit it was more fun but having owned a 2 year old GSXR I would imagine a 12 year old one to be showing it's age now.
Never liked the ZX9R, felt supersonic fast but it was slower than the Blade, never felt much feedback in the handling though.
The TLR felt like a twin trying to be a 4, not much low down grunt and the top end rush didn't really happen, getting a bit collectable now so budget may prevent getting a good one. The TLS has a much gruntier delivery but even that feels flat compared to my Superduke.
Outside choice - RSV Mille?

out of that list I would take the blade, I have been on R1s for the last 9 years so don't really have alot to pass on. I know a few that have got the zx9 and they love it, good speed, quick acceleration and comfort. Once the suspension is setup they can be a pretty pointed machine.

I suppose it depends on what you want to do with it? I remember you used to commute to Plymouth daily, is that still most of its use or is it more for fun and frolics?
I reckon best value for your money would be the Blade, but my heart will always say Gixxer, although its more likely to be a bit more ragged than the Blade ;) .

Really? I've been very disapointed in both Superdukes I've ridden in comparison to my TLS ...... not that they have significantly less power, just that they don't have more, given they're a much younger design? Plus they feel too tall/slim & "tippy" for me (too trail-bikey) Same goes for the Tuono too re power and handling ......graham22 wrote:

You might get lucky and find an Aprillia Mille in at the top of your budget?
For that money though, I don't think you can go wrong with a 'blade

Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

Cheers for replies..
No to the commuting, that ceased when my ZZR1100 engine blew up! Bike just for sunny weekends. ZRX sold yesterday so cash no burning a hole in my pocket!!

Honestly, rode a friends back to back with mine one day; when he was getting off of the KTM he pointed at the TL and said ' that's meant to be crazy but ....'TLS-Moose wrote:Really? Whilst the TL was nice & torquey, it just didn't pick up revs as quick as the KTM, the TL did feel more planted and yes the KTM is quick steering but I do liken it to my old CR500 hillclimber in the way it handles - I have the Hayabusa for being lazy.
Lee, I assume you're still in St Ives, have you seen this GSXR750 in Camborne:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-SUZUKI-G ... 178wt_1170" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Would question why the front wheel has polished rim & the rear hasn't, and beware of the dog

Re: What bike? £2k budget
A ZX7R might give you what you need, with the right gearing they can be a hoot. But not the white one for sale in Exeter,it looks like a hound.Low mileage minters are out there for around the 2 grand mark.
