I've recently joined the forum as I'm getting a Honda C90 in the next year or so and wanted to find other people near me (Somerset area) who also had an interest in motorcyles or anything mechanic.
I'm 29 and haven't ridden a motorcycle before, but hopefully I'll be on one soon enough
What put you in the direction for a C90? It's an unusual choice for a first bike.

Welcome, a c90 is not my first choice for a first bike, but looking into it a 1966 cub C90 look the bomb and if your into the retro scene why the hell not!!!
Enjoy

I was considering getting a bike for about a year but i'm not exactly an alpha male and struggled to find anything that looked suitable. Sat on a friend's bike and looked completely out of place
Saw a documentary made by James May about the Honda Super Cub and decided that it was the bike for me!
There's also a chap called Ed March who's travelling the world on one. They can take a beating and keep going.
Not a massively popular choice but there's something about them that makes me want one!
You only look out of place when you get off it and walk round TESCOS in your leathers.

Hi and thanks for the memories ,
the honda clunk was the 1st motorbike I rode as a spotty teenager, a group of us got hold of one and spent days in the old school summer holidays trying to get it to run and cutting off most of the plastic parts to make it more suitable for racing !! across fields and over the old slag heaps. I can remember the forward and backward gear pedal which took some abuse but it lasted us a while.
The only comment I would say is....go and have a really good look around a few bike shops, have a sit on loads of bikes.....its fairly common I reckon for a new rider to pidgeon hole themselves into a certain type of bike when in reality theres probably stacks of choice that'll fit your wish list!
Whatever you end up with, just enjoy.....tis what we get a license for isn't it?
