First time of course I had a tail light out.
This time however, I was doing NOTHING wrong.
Had the girlfriend on the back, we'd just had a nice Toby Carvery in Exeter and made our way back, coming into Exeter (funny enough opposite the bus lane I was worried about) Mr Plod puts the blues and twos on and pulls us over, Girl hops off and I sit there shaking a little wondering what I could have possibly done wrong, I wasn't speeding, the bike was in working order, I didn't overtake anything or break any of the rules of the road.
He then tells me that they've been hammered recently with reports on stolen bikes, does a check on my bike and gets really suspicious of the fact I have no license, then I make it clear I've passed my test only a few days ago. They just tell me that if I'm riding 2 up on a small bike, I'm bound to be stopped. I'm like ... okay
I ring my Dad and we discuss and think, isn't that a bit [Censored] prejudice!? Just cos I'm on a smaller bike with a pillion, doesn't mean I nicked it? The fact my full biking gear matches the bike as well should tell them it is in fact mine. What do you guys think of this situation?
Also be warned if this is the case they seem to just be randomly stopping Bikers to check documents.
