Our Final Donington Park Trackday of 2009
Donington Park closes for its revamp mid September. Our final trackday on its existing layout is on September the 10th.
Donington Park changes for ever to its new F1 designed configuration from mid September. This will combine a major transformation of both track layout and facilities and requires a huge amount of work and time.
The 10th of September will be your last chance to ride it with us in its existing layout. It will be in our standard three group format with a 105db noise limit. £159
This is your last chance to ride the same laps as so many legendary riders over the years. Another page is turning in the Donington Park history book and you can be part of it.
In terms of track development, the redesigned Donington Park will represent an equal mix of old and new. The designer, Tilke, has been careful to ensure that the additional sections of the track will complement the historic layout. The northern passage from Redgate Corner to McLean's Corner will remain unchanged. However, Coppice Corner is to be realigned and Starkey's Hill Straight and Melbourne Corner will be completely restructured.
From Melbourne, the track runs downhill into the new arena, using the current 4x4 track to create an exciting loop, which will achieve the required increase in length. After a sharp left, a slight right and an almost 90-degree right turn, the track will climb uphill at a challenging 12 per cent slope before leading back into the existing track formation. This undulation creates an exciting challenge and provides plenty of possibilities for overtaking and outstanding spectator viewing opportunities.
