Check the pick-up coil. Haynes manuals have the specs, check with a multi-meter. Then take the carbs off and totally clean them, check all the o-rings and the diaphragms for cracks/pin holes.

If those don't work start looking at coils and leads.

Should be the first two item as these bike run a wasted spark system and faults on all four cylinders is unlikely to be caused by two bad coils or four bad plugs or leads/caps. Not unheard of, unlikely.

Where you at?

I'd go through the lot to be honest

New plugs, give the carbs a soak in fresh petrol then a good clean out. Empty the tank and put some good fresh fuel in it. Check the wiring to the coils and the condition of the plug leads and caps. Turn the bike over with the plugs out and make sure you have a nice fat spark to all four, then chuck it back togather and see how it goes :)):

You can use normal o-rings from your hardware store. They are the exact same, just double check they are black and importantly, made of nitrile. 99% of black o-rings will be nitrile. This is what I have used on my FZR1k, they work perfectly. Grease them or coat with oil before you press them in as they'll most likely split.

On your float bowls - if the gasket looks a little squished you can use an oilstone to take a tiny bit off the face of the bowl, clean all the grooves and hey presto, a perfect seal.

If you have a mikuni cv carb you may have a seal beneath the main jet housing, if so you can do the same trick here too. Just don't remove too much material and ruin the part.

Check the slides move freely and equal.

The smallest split in a diaphragm can also cause significant problems.

Spray carb cleaner bloody everwhere, through every tube and jet. DO NOT damage the bores of any jet or passageway.

Have fun.

started tonight , panels off , dummy tank off , petrol tank off , so far so good .....took the lid off the air box and out if flowed tons of what looked like eaten nuts and seeds in the centre of the air filter ! Full to the top too ! Some little varmit has been living inthere i knew the bike had not done much service at 23 years young and 15000 miles but this was unbelievable ! Took some pics if i was not stupid i would put a couple up for ya , talk about a blocked air filter !
