natural selection is a good thing, although sometimes it could do with a nudge in the right direction.

It used to be 'personal choice' to wear seat belts, helmets, use child seats, have wing mirrors etc.

Also I rode my first motorbike with NIL instruction other than a few words from dad. Took and passed my test after a couple of weeks and went onto a 500 twin. The test took about 20 mins.

Legislation re. clothing may come. I heard that a certain level of gloves are required in some countries .
Have you noticed that anyone going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster is a maniac ?

Agree with Moosey, its your choice and legislation is a Pandora's box of what, where, how's etc. I CHOOSE to wear protective gear, but sometimes its protective 'non approved' gear.Like my steel toe capped work boots, tough denim work trousers with knee pads and a textile jacket over the top. If legislation was brought in, could I just pop down the road during/ after work wearing that perfectly acceptable gear?? I hate seeing kids wearing little or no bike gear but if you grew up in the Seventies and Eighties that was normal.
Cut me in half and I'v got Suzuki written right through me!
Ride GSXR 750 WR ( 1994) .
