Sorry to hear mate :(

At least you didn't get done for the headlight cover!

I thought they could give you points for numberplates now?

no, they are making noises about making it a pointable offence but they have been doing that for years.

time will tell.

Must be about time for my first fine of the year soon.

Funny As!

When I got pulled for mine going though newport one day, all I got was an MOT producer which had to be stamped by MOT garage, no fine!

I think police down in SW are not as nice, maybe they are fedup with everyone taking the piss, or is it they are just plain mean???

Either way, small plates are good, gets you off speeding fines which work out costing you far more than £30 so it's money well spent :)

Yeah down here, they are harsh, I rode through London with a MX lid on (bright yellow with bright green googles) on a loud SV650, with small, graphic plate, and I went past about 6 or 7 police cars, maybe even more, and I never even got looked at.....

I was even speeding at one point!
My cousin hasnt been done for small plate or can either (londoN again)

I've heard the police blame power output. i.e your bike will put out more power due to the can than a car will.
Also, you think the pigs can be arsed to get on their knees and see whether the boy racers have 'not for road use' stamped on their can?

tell me about targetted!!!

he was in his car starting to pull away but on seeing me (or hearing me  ) decided to stop, pull over, get out and walk 20 metres round the back of the garage to check my bike out!!!

then after a caution (which is not necessary) asked i am known to them!!!

with the crowd i had watching - this did loads for the biker/cops relationship!

i deserved it - i broke the law but its not like i went hoooning in there at 50mph and did a 15m rolling stoppie to the pump - this time anyway?! (saw a bit of diesel on the way in!!!)

i do think they use us as a way of topping up their funds. they must think ... right we need some more cash, lets target the bikers.
why dont they cruise the streets or even the hoe for the chavvo's up there. im sure they would get better funds from them
