Had similar problem on an old fzr a while back , went very well once passed a certain rpm but farted and coughed upto about 5000 rpm . Blocked pilot jet , start bike from cold and carefully touch each of the downpipes ,if its the pilot jets one or more of the downpipes wont be getting warm . I used ...

Used em , came off in em , the kevlar didnt bust but all the stitching did . Bad rash n sore knee . IMO no way , leather all the way . Paid a fair price for em they didnt do the job !

All back together now , just waiting on it drying up , went back together good , gave it a good clean its sounds fantastic but proof of the pudding will be tomorrow i guess , cheers for the input .

Not yet mate , picking up new carb gaskets tomorrow so will put it back together sat pm , carbs like new inside , diaphrams look fine too so hope its down to the air flow . Or lack of ! Gave the carbs a good blast of cleaner , will do em again before refitting .

The carbs look very clean inside , guess my problems could have been down to the blocked up air filter , took the jets out blew em thru , lots of carb cleaner and new gaskets coming tomorrow so will put it back together and suck it n see !

whilst stripping the bike down to get the carbs out an airbox choca block with what looked like bird seed ! Husts , empty sunflower seeds looks like some little fur covered fellers been living it up right to the top of the centre of the round air filter element , about the same size as a large jar o...

Pretty chilled out taking it apart , spannering with some good tunes is very theraputic !

started tonight , panels off , dummy tank off , petrol tank off , so far so good .....took the lid off the air box and out if flowed tons of what looked like eaten nuts and seeds in the centre of the air filter ! Cheers looks like i will be tinkering rather than riding this weekend , will get some new carb bowl O rings ordered up and suck it n see !

Sunny Plymouth , suspect carbs bikes only done little miles and oureco friendly fuel likes to turn into treacle after a few months ......cheers for the pointers bikes as sweet as can be under 6 thou .

any thoughts folks , 89 Fizzer 15000 miles runs fine til about 6000 rpm then really holding back t , you know like the old LC's did with spannies on just before the band if not 100% set up right . Its same with race can and std can ! All input welcome its spoiling acracking little classic that likes...

I am lucky to have a mint 1979 DT100 1n1 sat in the garage along side a very nice 89 FZR600 3he and a peal white 08 Zed thou .....was toying withthe idea if getting rid of the DT , its done 40 miles in 2.5 years but i have no idea what its worth andit may just break my heart.
